SafeWork SA: contact, what they enforce, and how to report

    Last updated 6 Jun 2026

SafeWork SA is the work health and safety regulator for South Australia, administering the Work Health and Safety Act 2012 (SA).

Report an unsafe workplace or get advice: call 1300 365 255.

Notifiable incident — report immediately: a death, serious injury or illness, or a dangerous incident must be reported to SafeWork SA straight away and the scene preserved. Check the SafeWork SA website for the notification line and online form.

SafeWork SA runs inspections, issues improvement and prohibition notices, and supports health and safety representatives. Workers compensation in SA is separate (ReturnToWorkSA).
