SiteKiln — Your rights on site. In plain English.
    SiteKiln

    Terms of Use

    Last updated: May 2026

    1. Who we are

SiteKiln is published by Kiln Guides Ltd.

    2. What this site is (and isn't)

SiteKiln provides free, plain-English information about legal rights, safety, pay, tax, contracts and careers in Australian construction.

This site does not provide legal, tax or financial advice. The information is general guidance to help you understand your rights and options. It is not a substitute for advice from a qualified solicitor, registered tax agent, licensed financial adviser or other professional tailored to your specific situation.

NOT financial advice - seek advice from a professional for your specific situation.

Laws change. Every job is different. If you need to rely on any of this for a real dispute, contract or decision, speak to a qualified adviser first.

    3. Free to read — not free to copy

All content on SiteKiln (guides, templates, checklists, articles, images, and any other material) is the copyright of Kiln Guides Ltd unless otherwise stated.

    You may:

    • Read, browse and use the site for free, without charge or login (guides are always free).
    • Download and use Document Hub templates for your own personal or business use.
    • Share links to SiteKiln pages with anyone.
    • Quote short extracts (a sentence or two) with clear attribution and a link back to the original page.

    You may not:

    • Copy, reproduce, republish or redistribute any SiteKiln content (in whole or in substantial part) on any other website, app, publication, social media account or platform without our written permission.
    • Scrape, crawl or systematically download content from this site for any purpose, including building databases, training AI or machine-learning models, or populating other sites.
    • Repackage, rebrand or resell SiteKiln guides or templates as your own products.
    • Remove or alter any copyright notices, attribution or branding from downloaded templates.
    • Frame or embed SiteKiln pages within another website without permission.

If you want to use our content beyond personal/business reference — for example, in training materials, publications, or commercial products — contact us to discuss licensing.

    4. Document Hub templates

Templates in the Document Hub are provided as starting points. They are not bespoke legal documents and should be reviewed and adapted for your specific situation.

    • Templates are licensed for your own personal or business use only.
    • You may not resell, redistribute or publish them as your own.
    • We do not guarantee that any template is suitable for your particular circumstances, jurisdiction or contract.
    • For higher-value or complex matters, always get a qualified professional to review any document before you rely on it.

    5. Document builder outputs

SiteKiln's document builders (SWMS, JSA, RAMS, Handover Packs, Site Diaries, Toolbox Talks, Scaffold Inspection Registers, etc.) generate PDFs based on information you provide.

    • The structure, wording, layout and branding of these PDFs are the copyright of Kiln Guides Ltd. The data you enter remains yours.
    • Generated PDFs are licensed for your own use only — you may submit them to clients, principal contractors or the relevant building certifier as part of your normal work.
    • You may not resell, redistribute, white-label or commercially repackage the generated documents.
    • These outputs are starting points, not finished documents. You are responsible for checking that every detail is correct, complete and appropriate for the specific job before you submit or rely on them.
    • For high-risk construction work, complex sites or anything involving significant safety obligations, always get a competent person to review the document before use.

    6. Accuracy and updates

We do our best to keep SiteKiln accurate and up to date, but we do not guarantee that every page reflects the latest legal position at the time you read it.

    • Laws, rates, thresholds and guidance change — sometimes without much warning. Most AU rates reset on 1 July.
    • Where a change has been announced but is not yet legislated, we label it as such.
    • We aim to review guides regularly and flag where changes are expected, but we may not catch everything immediately.
    • If you spot something that looks wrong or out of date, please let us know — we'd rather fix it than leave it.

    7. Liability and consumer guarantees

Nothing in these terms excludes, restricts or modifies any guarantee, right or remedy you have under the Australian Consumer Law (Schedule 2 of the Competition and Consumer Act 2010 (Cth)) or any other law that cannot be excluded.

Subject to that, and to the fullest extent permitted by law:

    • Kiln Guides Ltd accepts no liability for any loss, damage, cost or expense arising from your use of, or reliance on, any content on this site.
    • This includes (but is not limited to) losses arising from acting on information in our guides, using our templates, or following links to third-party websites.
    • Where liability cannot be excluded, our liability is limited (at our option) to re-supplying the information or paying the cost of having it re-supplied.

SiteKiln links to external websites (legislation.gov.au, state legislation sites, Fair Work Ombudsman, Safe Work Australia, state WHS regulators, the ATO, ASIC, the ABCB, etc.) for your convenience. We do not control those sites and are not responsible for their content, accuracy or availability.

Phone numbers, URLs and contact details for external organisations are provided in good faith but may change — check the organisation's own website for the latest details.

    9. AI and automated access

Automated scraping, crawling or data extraction from SiteKiln is not permitted unless you have our written permission.

We specifically do not consent to the use of SiteKiln content for the purpose of training artificial intelligence or machine learning models.

Our robots.txt file sets out which automated agents are permitted to access the site for search-indexing purposes. Agents not listed or specifically disallowed must not access the site.

    10. Document Hub access

The Document Hub is for people working in the Australian construction industry. Where you provide an email to access a template, you confirm you work in construction or a closely related trade.

    • You must provide accurate information.
    • We will handle any personal information in accordance with our Privacy Policy.

We reserve the right to block access at any time, without notice, if we believe:

    • Access was obtained with false information or by someone who does not work in the industry.
    • Access is being used to scrape, bulk-download or redistribute templates.
    • The email address is disposable, fraudulent or associated with abusive activity.

We may block associated email addresses and IP addresses from regaining access. We are under no obligation to give reasons or enter into correspondence about blocked access.

    11. Sponsorship

SiteKiln carries category-exclusive sponsorship from Australian construction-industry brands (tool companies, insurers, RTOs, accountants, etc.).

    • All sponsorship is clearly labelled.
    • Sponsored placements are identified as such.
    • Sponsorship does not influence the content of our guides — editorial and sponsorship are kept separate.
    • We do not sell user data to sponsors. See our Privacy Policy for details.

    12. Changes to these terms

We may update these terms from time to time. The "last updated" date at the top of this page will change when we do. Continued use of the site after changes means you accept the updated terms.

    13. Governing law

These terms are governed by the laws of Australia and, where applicable, the law of the State or Territory in which you reside. Any disputes will be subject to the non-exclusive jurisdiction of the Australian courts.

    14. Contact

If you have questions about these terms, want to report an issue, or want to discuss licensing, contact hello@kilnguides.co.uk.

    Important disclaimer

SiteKiln provides general guidance only. Nothing on this site — including our guides, tools, templates and document hub — is legal, tax, financial or professional advice.

Every situation is different. Laws, regulations and industry standards change. You should always check with a qualified professional before making decisions based on what you read here.

We do our best to keep information accurate and up to date, but we cannot guarantee it is complete, correct or current. SiteKiln accepts no liability for actions taken based on the content of this site.
