Workplace Health and Safety Queensland: contact and how to report

    Last updated 6 Jun 2026

Workplace Health and Safety Queensland (WHSQ) is the WHS regulator for Queensland, administering the Work Health and Safety Act 2011 (Qld).

Report an unsafe workplace or get advice: call 1300 651 387.

Notifiable incident — report immediately: a death, serious injury or illness, or a dangerous incident must be reported to WHSQ straight away and the site preserved. Check the WorkSafe Queensland website for the notification line and online form.

WHSQ runs inspections, issues improvement and prohibition notices, and supports health and safety representatives. Workers compensation in Queensland is separate (WorkCover Queensland and the Workers' Compensation Regulator).
