WorkSafe Tasmania: contact, what they enforce, and how to report

    Last updated 6 Jun 2026

WorkSafe Tasmania is the work health and safety regulator for Tasmania, administering the Work Health and Safety Act 2012 (Tas).

Report an unsafe workplace or get advice: call 1300 366 322 (within Tasmania).

Notifiable incident — report immediately: a death, serious injury or illness, or a dangerous incident must be reported to WorkSafe Tasmania straight away and the site preserved. Check the WorkSafe Tasmania website for the notification line and online form.

WorkSafe Tasmania runs inspections, issues improvement and prohibition notices, and supports health and safety representatives. Workers compensation is handled through licensed insurers and the WorkCover Tasmania Board.
