    Penalty rates (multiples of the ordinary hourly rate)

    Weekday overtime150% (first 2 hrs) then 200%
    Saturday150% then 200%
    Sunday200%
    Public holiday250% (or a day off in lieu)

    Casual loading25% on the ordinary rate
    Casual overtime / penalties175% / 225% / 275%

    How the base rate is set

    • Classifications CW1–CW9 (standard tradesperson = CW3); apprentice % ladder in clauses 19.7 / 19.8
    • Plus allowances — expense (cl 21), industry / all-purpose (cl 22), disability (cl 23) and Schedule B
