Victorian Building Authority (VBA): registration & contact

    Last updated 6 Jun 2026

The Victorian Building Authority (VBA) registers building and plumbing practitioners in Victoria and regulates the industry. Domestic building insurance (DBI) is provided through the VMIA, and building disputes are handled via Victoria's building dispute resolution service.

Check or apply for registration, or get information: call 1300 815 127 or use the VBA website.

Building work is approved by a registered building surveyor against the National Construction Code — separate from your practitioner registration.
