    What the law actually says

    • Under the model WHS Regulations, the PCBU (your employer or the business in control of the work) must provide the PPE needed to do the job safely, maintain it, and not charge you for it.
    • PPE is the last line of defence — the law expects higher-order controls (elimination, substitution, engineering, like on-tool dust extraction for silica) first.
    • Guidance only, not legal advice.
