Score the risk of this height job before you start — in plain English.

For small firms and sole traders doing roof, scaffold, tower or EWP work who want a quick risk score that actually reflects the job.

    Question 1 of 8

    1. Is the work at or above 2 metres from the ground?

    What the law actually says

    • Work at or above 2 metres is high-risk construction work under the WHS Regulations — it needs a Safe Work Method Statement (SWMS) before it starts.
    • Falls from height are a leading cause of death on site. The law expects you to eliminate the risk where you can (work from the ground), then use passive controls (edge protection, scaffold) before relying on a harness.
    • Guidance only, not legal advice — confirm with Safe Work Australia and your state's WHS regulator.
